Darren Hamblin

Darren Hamblin is the owner and manager of Strathdale Wagyu and Struggle Downs Feedlot, with more than 25 years’ experience across the Wagyu beef supply chain. Since beginning Strathdale Wagyu in 2000, Darren has built a vertically connected business spanning breeding, backgrounding, custom feeding, carcase data, genetics, branded beef and feedlot finishing. His approach has been shaped by a strong focus on performance, traceability and continuous improvement. The development of Master beef - a carcase assessment and reporting platform - reflects his long-running interest in using better data to drive better decisions. More recently, Struggle Downs Feedlot has brought that same thinking into a purpose-built, fully shedded feedlot environment, combining practical stockmanship with technology, automation and bold infrastructure investment.
